The Portrait Process
I paint people and pets in their own environments, based on the reference photos that I am provided with by the client. I also often use simple, abstract, backgrounds unless an alternative background is requested.
A portrait, whether it be of a family member or of a beloved pet, is truly a celebration, of love. My clients often commission a portrait for a birthday, graduation, wedding, or wedding anniversary gift. It is one of the greatest gifts you can give and it shares with the viewer a special memory and the love that they have for the subject within the portrait.
Once you are ready to commission a portrait, the first thing that is requested is a photo or multiple photos (if you are undecided on an image) of your subject(s). I kindly request that you provide me with a high resolution digital image that may be sent via email: [email protected], or via www.wetransfer.com, which a free online service that is best suited for larger files.
After I have received your reference photo(s), we will discuss canvas size, background color or environment, and whether or not you wish to have the painting framed. You can find my pricing under the pricing tab above. The sizes I have listed are the sizes of canvas most commonly requested. I am happy to provide you with additional pricing for alternative sizes.
